The wireless receiver is directly adjacent to our WiFi TV (downstairs), and the broadband Gateway (hardwired) and WAP are located upstairs. Sometimes it's two or three green bars, and other times it drops it drops to red. My wireless TV receiver has fluctuating WiFi signal strength.
The problem isn't with 3G shutting off, the issue is why does the phone have consistently higher bars when using a 3G connection (3-4 bars in my experience), versus using wifi (usually 1-2 bars in my experience) ? I can't quite figure it out why cellular network strength decreases when wifi is connected. Do magnetic field really affects wifi signals? hope I will get a satisfactory answer. I have note 4 and I have putted magnetic cover on it, and now sometimes if signals are low then if I put cover off then I can use my wifi connection and if I keep cover on it then it stops working. The further away the WiFi repeater is from the router, the weaker the signal will be. Thick walls, floors, and ceilings can disrupt the connection and weaken the signal. A WiFi repeater needs to be able to clearly pick up the wireless signal from your router. The placement of a WiFi repeater can also affect the strength of the connection. Powerline is a way round the issue as they carry the signal over your mains wiring is not cheap but should work, other solutions are running ethernet cables which will defintely work. The solution to these issues is installing a number of wifi hotspots in problem areas but wifi boosters are not the solution as they need a strong signal to boost.
